Child safety
Our child safety standards
Zoota has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This page sets out our standards, how to report a concern, and how we respond.
Zero tolerance
We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on Zoota in every form. That includes any content, message, or behaviour that sexualises a minor, any attempt to groom, solicit, or sexually extort a minor, and any attempt to use Zoota to find, produce, or share such material.
This applies to every part of the app: posts, session clips, stories, comments, direct messages, club and match chat, profile details, and club pages.
Minimum age
Zoota is for players aged 13 and over. We ask for a date of birth at sign-up and do not permit accounts for anyone under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we remove it.
If you believe a child under 13 is using Zoota, tell us at support@zoota.co and we will act on it.
How to report
Reporting is built into the app, and every report reaches a person.
- In the app. Open the menu on any post, story, comment, message, or profile and choose Report. Select Child safety concern so it is prioritised.
- By email. Write to support@zoota.co with the subject Child safety. This inbox is monitored, and it is the channel named in our Play Console child safety declaration.
- Blocking. You can block any account from its profile or from a conversation. A blocked account cannot message you, and their content is hidden from you.
How we respond
CSAE reports are handled ahead of everything else.
- Reports raise an alert to our moderation team as they arrive, rather than sitting in a queue until someone looks.
- Content that is reported repeatedly is hidden automatically while it is reviewed, so a decision is never the only thing standing between a report and the content coming down.
- Confirmed CSAE results in immediate removal of the content and permanent termination of the account.
- We report confirmed CSAE to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, and preserve the associated records as required by law.
Preventing it in the first place
- Automated scanning. Images posted to the feed are scanned for explicit content, and video is scanned by its preview frame. Content that fails is removed automatically.
- Reported content is hidden. Automated scanning does not catch everything, so content that several people report is withheld while it is reviewed, rather than waiting on a moderator to reach it.
- Profile screening. Names, usernames, and bios are screened for prohibited terms at the point they are set.
- Private by default. Recorded sessions are private to the player unless they choose to share a delivery, so a new account is not publishing to strangers by accident.
- Accounts can be locked down. A private account approves every follower, and only approved followers see its content.
Our point of contact
Child safety matters, including reports, questions from regulators, and requests from law enforcement, are handled through support@zoota.co. This is the address named as our child safety point of contact in Google Play Console.
